Which fonts can I use in an email signature?

Mirosign currently offers the following email-safe or web-safe fonts / font stacks as options when designing an email signature:

  • Arial / Helvetica
  • Calibri
  • Comic Sans
  • Courier
  • Georgia
  • Lucida Console / Monaco
  • Lucida Sans
  • Palatino
  • System Font
  • Tahoma
  • Times / Times New Roman
  • Trebuchet
  • Verdana

Web-safe fonts

We limit our choice to this set of web-safe font stacks to ensure that your signature will work on all email platforms. If your font is not web-safe it will likely not be available in all email platforms and the system will fall back to a default font that could break your design or layout.

By using this set of tried and tested web-safe fonts we can ensure your design will look good on all email platforms.

Custom fonts

Custom fonts require the user to also have the font installed on their computer and in most cases this is unlikely. Even services like Google Fonts require the font to be loaded into the source code of the email signature and most email platforms strip this code out which means it’s still not a reliable solution.

System fonts

For the most modern and seamless device-based solution in Mirosign, we would recommend choosing the ‘System Font’ option in the font dropdown. This will choose the system font for the operating system the email is being received on (for example: Windows, Mac, iOS etc.) leading to the most seamless experience for the recipient.
